This article titled How To: Have Long Term Healthy Looking Skin – 5 Tips was first published on the lifestyle tips website Multivitamin.co.uk.

Healthy looking skin makes a big difference to your whole complexion. It puts colour in your cheeks and makes you look healthier. There are lots of ways get rid of spots quickly. Because of this many men and women have the tendency to just try and get rid of the spots when they appear, instead of taking a few minor actions to stop them appearing in the first place, and keep the whole skin complexion better whilst stopping them.

Reduce Sugar Intake

The food we eat has an effect on our skin, you don’t need to suddenly start eating salad every night for dinner but it is wise to look at the amount of sugar in food you eat on a regular occasion. The supermarkets now stock a lot of alternatives which are lower in sugar, buying these can help especially if you are in your teens.

Reduce Stress

One of the big contributors to spots is stress. When you are really busy and under pressure you become more stressed than normal. When you finish work try to relax as much as possible. One simple and great way to relax is to; buy some top quality bubble bath, a few tealight candles, find a chillout CD and have a good soak for as long as you can. If you don’t want to do this every week you may have to consider reducing your hours at work or get rid of whatever is causing you stress.

Change Your Towels

Once you have used a towel it then has dirt and grime on it, this rubs against your face when you dry yourself, this can causes spots. Some people will use the same towel for up to a week or even longer. This is not hygienic and you should get in the habit of regularly changing your towels.

Get Some Fresh Air

Many of us spend the vast majority of the day indoors, the only fresh air we get is when we get in and out of our cars going to and from work. Fresh air and a little bit of exercise (like a brisk walk) is actually really good for your skin and whole body, and it doesn’t cost a penny! Get in the habit of getting 15 minutes fresh air a day via a brisk walk and you could soon seen you skin clearing up and a better overall complexion.

Drink Tap Water

Everyone knows drinking water is good for us, tap water is very cheap (or free if you’re at work) so take advantage and try and get in the habit of drinking at least a pint per day. In doesn’t have to be all in one go – you could try a small glass of water with your breakfast, a small glass with your lunch and a small glass before you go to bed!

The key to having long term healthier looking skin is to get in the habit of doing the above points. Changing your towels, going for a quick walk, having a drink of water – it isn’t hard it’s just getting in the habit. Do this and you will look healthier and at no real cost!

This article titled How To: Lower Your Blood Pressure To A Normal Level – 4 Ways was first published on the lifestyle tips website Multivitamin.co.uk.

Around 1 in 3 people have high blood pressure, many people aren’t aware they have it. It is recommended you regularly check your blood pressure, if you don’t have a blood pressure monitor at home then ask your GP to check it when you next visit the doctor. If you do have high blood pressure it is important you take action to bring it back down a normal level (between 130/80 and 140/90 mmHg – excluding certain age groups).

Eat Healthy

We are all well aware that eating healthy is important, so there is no excuse! What we put into our body affects our health greatly, whether it is positively of negatively. If you have an unhealthy diet do some research and put it right, this will bring your blood pressure down.

Control Stress Levels

The more stressed you are the higher your blood pressure goes. Whatever causes your stress it is important to relieve the stress from your body. Even having a relaxing bath with candles and quiet music can bring your stress levels down. Long-term you may need more permanent fixes, if work is causing your stress then reducing your working hours could help.

Keep Your Weight Down

Being overweight is a common cause of high blood pressure. Losing even a small amount of weight can bring your blood pressure level down. Losing weight will help your mobility, vitality and increase your energy, this in turn will bring your blood pressure down even further.

Regular Exercise

We all know that those with a relatively unactive lifestyle have more health problems than those with an active lifestyle, with blood pressure being one of them. If you currently don’t get much exercise you could start by just taking a brisk walk everyday round the block.

High blood pressure is dangerous, the 4 ways listed above are simple to do. If losing weight or starting a new fitness regime it will require a level of commitment from you, but the result is a longer and healthier life – well worth the effort!

I am a fan of the Lime, it’s a great tasting fruit. But recently I was told you may be able to use it to cure a headache! I’m not a pessimistic person but to be honest I couldn’t see how it could work.

I’ve done some digging and it turns out putting a lime on the forehead can indeed help to stop a headache. However it only stops the headache whilst the lime is placed on the forehead, when you take it off the pain soon comes back.

I’ve found 2 experiences of people trying it and reporting back, here is one article and here is another. I’m glad other people have tried it because I’d rather save my limes for my glass of lemonade!

So if you have no paracetamol around to stop a headache but you are in real pain then grab a lime and hold it on your forehead until someone can go to the shops to stock up on some real relief.

This article titled Made A New Years Fitness Resolution? was first published on the lifestyle tips website Multivitamin.co.uk.

How is your News Years Resolution to either; get fitter or lose weight going?

It’s Going Good
If it is going good then keep it up. Remember to keep reviewing your current goals, you don’t just want to stay on the same routines all the time, as your fitness improves you will want to increase your workload gradually.

Going Bad
If you are already stuggling with your New Years Resolution then there are a few things you can do. Don’t go thinking all is lost just because you’ve got off to a bad start.

Unrealistic Goals
If you feel your goals are a million miles away then make them more realistic. Then when you reach your first goal set a new one slightly higher. Keep working that way and eventually you will reach your original goal.

Think Positive
In all aspects of life it is important to think positive, if you are negative about your chances of achieving your New Years Resolution then you will never make it – be positive!

Slow It Down
This may sound silly, but if you have gone for it right from January 1st you may be doing too much too quick. If you feel like it is getting on top of you then reduce the amount you workout by changing your schedule.

Not Enjoying What You Are Doing
There are lots of ways to get fit, and lots of ways to lose weight as well. If you aren’t enjoying the method you’ve started with then change it, if you aren’t happy with your current method then you will soon give up and never reach your targets.

Conclusion
New Years Resolutions are not just for January, they should be here to stay and help you improve your life. Remember your targets, be comfortable with what you are doing and be positive – you will get to where you want to be in no time!

This article titled 6 Tips To Keep Warm This Winter & Save Money was first published on the lifestyle tips website Multivitamin.co.uk.

It is very important you make an effort to keep yourself warm this winter, especially if you have small children or are elderly. If you have elderly relatives it may be good to print this page off and give it to them for guidance.

Here Are 6 Tips To Keep Yourself Warm This Winter!

Hot Food & Drink – it is important your body gets the energy it needs to keep warm so eat at least one hot meal per day and have hot drinks regularly. If you don’t want to go out and do the shopping because of the cold you could shop online on the supermarkets websites.

Exercise Regularly – exercising improves circulation and helps keep you warm. Simply doing household chores throughout the day could be enough.

Layers of Clothing – it is better to have more layers of thin clothing than one or two of thick clothing because heat gets trapped between the layers. If going outdoors ensure you have waterproof clothing as well as gloves, scarf and a warm hat.

Bedding – keep your bedroom at a warm temperature and make sure you have plenty of good quality bedding to keep you warm at night.

Heating – it is recommended you keep your home heated to 21 degrees celsius, or 23 degrees celsius if you are elderly. Don’t let the temperature drop below 16 degrees, especially if you are elderly, this will put you at risk of hypothermia, strokes or a heart attack.

Energy Efficiency – it is important to get your fire and heating system checked regularly to check it is working and at full efficiency. Local councils provide grants for older people who need central heating, so get in touch with them to see if they can help.

If you don’t have much money and are worried that the winter will mean you have big heating bills to pay then there are some actions you can take to avoid such a situation.

Here Are 4 Tips To Save You Money This Winter

Energy Supplier - check your current energy costs and shop around for a cheaper supplier. Read the contract though to make sure it won’t cost you more in the long-term.

Fuel Bill Payments – make sure you are paying by direct debit, this is the cheapest way to do it. Card meters, tokens and coins are the most expensive. Just changing how you pay could save you £10 per month.

Stop Heat Escaping – double check all your windows are properly closed and shut your curtains to stop heat escaping.

General Energy Tips – switch of lights when not in use, don’t leave electrical appliances on standy, don’t put furniture in front of radiators, have a shower instead of bath, cook with proper lids on pans, only use washing machine when full, don’t boil more water than you need.

So there in total is 10 tips to help you this winter. You could bookmark this page or print it off for future reference. With these tips you can get through the winter in warmth and comfort!
